Collaboration 4.0 for VOLkswagen group
As the world's largest car manufacturer VOLKSWAGEN makes a serious effort in transforming its operations. As part of the digital transformation, Blackboat supported new ways of digital and social collaboration. We used our Collaboration Performance Map to identify weak points that need attention and structured the pilot phases for cloud-based tools such as G Suite and Office 365. IT security, data privacy and compliance have been a core part of the project, as well as the impact on users and how the tools shape the way the teams work and collaborate. Listen to the podcast interview between VOLKSWAGEN's Chief Digital Officer Johann 'JJ' Jungwirth and Blackboat CEO Christoph Magnussen for more insights into their digital transformation.
Office 365 to G Suite Setup for E-Commerce Startup Kartenmacherei (100+ employees)
With a mixed tool environment (G Suite, Office 365 and many others) e-commerce company Kartenmacherei aimed to streamline their collaboration environment, in order to bring more efficiency to their project teams. With a small team we helped to migrate into one cloud setup and supported each department to gain maximum productivity despite their individual challenges.
Highly effective cloud collaboration MyMuesli (800+ employees 40 sites)
With 3 main offices in Berlin & Passau and approx. 40 international stores mymuesli wanted to keep the migration process from a no cloud to a 100% cloud powered setup, as short as possible. First step was the decision between Microsoft Office 365 or Google’s G Suite. The goal was to create a new level of collaboration between the offices and make it easy for the field-service to have access to both emails and documents. Thus, the founder-team decided on Google’s lean and highly collaborative tool environment: G Suite.
To ensure a smooth transition we went for the “just in time tactic”. Users were migrated just before the training, thus they would first open the new system within the training and adjust all the settings that they needed within the training itself. Walking teachers were on-site to answer questions on the job and help with new settings and work methods. The users were fully migrated and trained within 3 weeks.
From Not in the cloud to a cloud-powered collaboration environment: Restaurant chain MAMA
The MAMA restaurants faced one particularl challenge: there was no scalable IT system in place. Different mail clients were used between branches and there was no single source of information, making it very hard to communicate between the different locations, especially from headquarter to the individual branches.
After deciding between Office 365, G Suite or Atlassian and finally implementing Google’s cloud solution, we delivered a full training to the company management-level and created a new structure within Drive that makes it easy for each restaurant manager to find everything they need, including guidelines, recipes and weekly status updates. The restaurant managers had a quick on-boarding onsite, to get to know the new system.
Bringing 'New Work to Germany's most successful agency thjnk
Google’s G Suite was already in place when Blackboat became the partner of thjnk, but was not nearly used to its full potential. People switched between environments e.g. between Apple Mail and Google Mail. We started a whole new training concept with small groups of up to 5 people, in three short 1,5 hour Bootcamp sessions.
The focus of the Bootcamp was the fascination for the product, through individual use cases. A community based on Google+ was introduced to connect and engage users through questions, videos and tricks.
We also hold the monthly on-boarding in combination with special welcome videos to provide an ongoing support to the highly collaborative project managers and administrators.
